I hope someone can help me and get back to me asap. I bought a new Dell laptop after years of wanting one. Only problem is I can only access the internet thru public wi-fi spots. I do not have land line or DSL service at home and although I checked into getting both from AT&T I don't really need it-and getting DSL would defeat the purpose in getting the laptop to be able to use it anywhere within the house. I know my options are: 1) get DSL home service; 2) get a wireless router--but I still will not be able to connect to unknown or unsecure networks or 3) get a wireless ISP card. I have checked into the latter and am finding out they run a credit check and charge upwards of $100 for the card and monthly fee for service. What is the cheapest way to go? Is this my only option?
