| This happens with smaller isp when they have capactiy issue, also the obvious reason is that you could be tying in the wrong username or wrong password. Also in many isps you have to put a realm after your username, such as username@ispname.com. I hope this helps. |

1) Check that your account exists and that you've registered with the ISP.
2) You typed the username or password incorrectly.
Check that you are typing only your login, ie james, not james@vcn.bc.ca.
3) Caps Lock is on. Press it again to toggle it off.
4) You have an incorrect password.
If these do not help, then Dialup Networking on Windows may be corrupted. |

| I believe he was telling us how to avoid the problem with error 691. However, thanks Ruby for trying to help. Also I noticed some ISP's require their customers usernames to be case sensitive and may provide their own dialers, so typing in just the username may not be sufficient. Always the username will have to be in email format when using the windows dialer. Hope this helps. |
