Ms Wireless Lan/cox Internet Issue, Wireless PC unable to co |

I purchased a Wireless G Microsoft base station and network card. I have 1 XP and 1 98 machine networked currently. File- and print-sharing are both working fine on both systems.
here is the problem : the main reason I spent the $$ for the wireless eqiupment is so both computers could be connected to the Internet via my Cox cable account. I have a Motorola SB4100 cable modem connected to the base station; my XP machine is connected via Ethernet to the base station, and has no problems accessing the Internet. However, the Win 98 machine refuses to connect. I have followed all the troubleshooting guides on both Microsoft and Cox's support sites, and I have contacted both Cox and Microsoft and had them walk me through several hours of tech support ideas - but I still can't get the darn thing working.
can anybody give me solution ? |

| After fiddling with the stupid thing for nearly 2 weeks, my roommate purchased a new hard drive and upgraded his RAM, and asked me to upgrade his computer to Windows XP - and BOOM! getting rid of Windows 98 (sucky!) solved the problem. He didn't even realize it until he happened to accidentally open IE and got his normal search page on the screen. |

| Hi I got it worked out with D Link. In case you're curious on how it got fixed, the Tech Guy had me lower the MTU setting. |
