have you ever heard about Speadstream 5660. Use it i have experienced GVC before, really it was really horrible, but this speadstream 5660 is genuin and it really works well

Hey GVC really its worst then any other

i had before GVC BB0040 modem , i dont know but suddenly all lights go down, stops working , slow speed and even my friend also got the same problem
really you are right its strongly advised that dont buy GVC

I want to purchase Alcatel wireless modem for $80 including 5 filters. But I have two questions & hope anyone can have the answer.

- Do I need a wall mount phone filter for wall mount wireless phone? Will normal phone filter do the work well?
- How can I tell if the modem is working or not without DSL service?

Don’t final the deal of modem.
I think you have two main choices for shopping a modem.
--- A Westell 516 modem comes with all phone line filters that are needed. To buy it , hurry up.. make a bid on ebay.com at price of $80-90 + S&H.
--- Alcatel DSL modem – 3EC18804GCAA01 modem only.. try to bid at $80 + S&H. also with phone filters add $30 more to add.

The Alcatel DSL modem is the best. I see that in an opinion poll out of 50 people, 9 say it's the best.
That is 15%, not too bad. I recommend you to go for another modem that is newly available.
