If you are moving to an area where they don't provide service then you shouldn't have to pay any penalties b/c there is nothing you can do but cancel the service. I would speak with a manager of SBC yahoo if you aren't getting anywhere customer service. I believe that if you are in contract but there is no possibility of actually receiving service then they cannot penalize. Im not sure of the terms of an SBC yahoo contract but that is my understanding. You will need that receipt though.

                                      Hi Guys
I had signed up to SBC Yahoo DSL about 3 months back on a one year contract. But now I am relocating to a place where they do not offer service.

My contract included some early deactivation penalties. I discussed with SBC Yahoo customer service a couple of times but got confusing replies.

I am not sure if I would be expected to pay the early deactivation charges for cancelling before the end of year. Is there any way to avoid such charges. I lost my original copy of contract.

Has anyone been through a similar situation?
