Hi,

Stop worrying about wdfmgr.exe because its process used by Microsoft and its not harmfull.

Keith is there anyway u could help me, whenever i try to install a software on my computer i get a "Invalid Drive E:\" what do i do, i have tried running the "regedit" command but i get a autoexec.nt error

What do i do?

Hi All,

I�m trying to repair autoexec.nt file or error.

If Config.nt, Autoexec.nt and Command.com files are missing or damaged, following go with step one by one.

>> Insert the CD into the CD drive or DVD drive.
>> Click Start, and then click Run.
>> Open run and type cmd, and then click OK.
>> At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com
exit
>> Start or install the program. If the issue is resolved, do not complete the remaining steps. If the issue is not resolved, go to the next step.
>> Open Notepad.
>> In Notepad, type the following entries:
dos=high, umb device \hi=%SYSTEMROOT%\system32mem.sys files=40
>> On the File menu, click Save As.
>> In the File Name box, type Config.nt, and then click Save. Close the Config.nt file.
>> On the File menu, click New.
>> In the new blank document, type the following entries:
@echo off lh %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mscdexnt.exe lh %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\redir lh %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\dosx SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330 T3
>> On the File menu, click Save As.
>> In the File Name box, type Autoexec.nt, and then click Save. Close the Autoexec.nt file.
>> Start Windows Explorer. Locate the Config.nt file, right-click the Config.nt file, and then click Copy.
>> Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
>> Locate the Autoexec.nt file, right-click the Autoexec.nt file, and then click Copy.
>> Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
>> Locate the Command.com file, right-click the expanded Command.com file, and then click Copy.
>> Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste. Restart your computer.

After restart continues to occur, copy the Autoexec.nt and Config.nt files from the Repair folder in Windows to the System folder. And go with follow steps:

>> Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\repair, and then click OK.
>> Right-click autoexec.nt, and then click Copy.
>> Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\system32, and then click OK.
>> Right-click anywhere in that folder, and then click Paste.
>> Right-click the Autoexect.nt file that you just copied, and then click Properties.
>> Click to select Read-Only, and then click OK.
>> Repeat steps 1 through 6 to copy the Config.nt file.

Hello,

This is not a big problem. I also had same problem. I think you can solve this problem by restarting your computer. Most windows problem can solved by restarting windows. So, try it and if this will happen again reply me.

i did just what you said and i no longer get the pop up but when i go run CMD you know i get the black screen and stuff as usal no pop up but it closes right away in like a second

Any idea, this is just as bad

Hello Rock,

You get this error after installing Windows SP2 and while try to run 16-bit application.

"16 bit Windows Subsystem - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

To fix this error follow this path

Open C:\Windows\repair
Copy Atuoexec.nt file
Browse C:\Windows\System32
And paste Autoexec.nt over here

This will fix you autoexec.nt error. If you still getting this error reply me soon.

I got above msg. yesterday when i bootup my computer. I dont know why this popup. I am not sure what to remove to fix this problem. This error popup everytime when i bootup my computer.

I keep getting memory error while playing CS source and wdfmgr.exe gone after upgrading to SP2. I think this will also help u to fix wdfmgr.exe. Try it.

Hi JP.

I think this is not relevant topic for posting your question. Here user posts about autoexec.nt error only. Your question is not reletated to autoexec.nt.

Here is the way i suggest you to do.

Click on Start then go to Run and type in SFC /scannow. This command will check damaged file or missing file. Also at that time you need to be ready with your windows XP cd.

I loaded the patch from Parkard Bell on my Windows XP Home Ed put now I get a "File Error, Cannot find SHELL.DLL" message that pops up repeatedly! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Before some days autoexec.nt showed up in my desktop and i reinstall windows XP and autoexec.nt error removed from my computer. I suggest all here to do so because no one can fix this issue.

Autoexec.nt shows up in you Command and i found one solution for autoexecn.nt just follow all the steps
