Do I need to run this processes, if I use my IPOD frequently?

Hi,

Frankly speaking, i don't know the exact answer for your question but may be it free up system resources.

iPodService.exe should be running from the time you boot up the computer. The reason for this may be that itunes starts automatically whenever you plug-in your ipod.

Hey Thanx for suggesting the solution to delete ipodservice.exe. I had one question in my mind that why it is required to remove ipodservice.exe file from your computer.

What benefit will u get after removing the file? Please suggest me some answer of these questions.

Here's how I did mine in XP Pro.
1. Right-click My Computer and click Manage
2. Select Services under Services and Applications
3. Scroll down to iPod Service and double-click to open the properties
4. Stop the service first then change Startup type to Disabled.

Hi Guys,

ipodservice.exe is not suspected as virus. This is part of Apple iPod drivers.

The ipodservice.exe process is a utility used to download mp3 files for your iPod. If you don�t use it, or do not have an iPod you can safely remove this process from control panel. But you don't want to remove this exe, it will not create any problem.

I recently found ipodservice.exe on my computer. While searching for what is ipodservice.exe? I found this forum.

This is really an active forum and I found the good information of ipodservice.exe and also found how to remove this. I am very thankful to this forum and their users. They help me lot to fix what is it.

If you are not using ipodservice.exe service and you want to quite this process. Uninstall this process.

>> Click on Start.

>> Click Setting and then Click Control Penal.

>> Go to Add/Remove program.

>> Go to Change and Remove program.

>> Click Remove ipodservice.exe and restart your computer.

Hello Rock,

Thats right. ipodservice.exe process belongs to Apple's iTunes tool. And user can turn off this process if they dont require. ipodservice.exe will not harm your computer if you are not using this service.

ipodservice.exe is a process belonging to Apple's iTunes peer-to-peer download tool. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling this is down to user preference.

The ipodservice.exe process is a utility used to download mp3 files for your iPod. If you do not use it, or do not have an iPod you can safely remove this process.

ipodservice.exe is an application that does NOT appear to be a security risk. The Spy Bot database currently registers ipodservice.exe to Apple. This is part of Apple iPod drivers.
