The Call waiting signal reliably disconnects the computer. There must be a sound tone. Most places still use a tone. The modem especially disconnects for that some noise appears in it.

I use old Mac Performa 5200 with external Global village Teleport 33.6 & disabled call waiting that blocked me for incoming calls. I want to remove call waiting feature so the phone ringing well. I tried one of those call waiting alert boxes but it is unreliable. Are there any other settings that cause disconnection from Internet when a call comes in?
