This is a portion of Microsoft Windows Operating System, which is needed to execute .HTA files. This program is a non-essential system process. Mshta.exe is not required for Windows to work correctly. If you find that it is causing problems from your system, you should terminate it.

I too am experiencing difficulties with this mshta.exe unknown scriptingthing...so far I'm still running sfc /scannow & see what happens since sfc /scannow does fix up your sys files a bit...I'll see if it works

Hi,

I am running windows 2000 Professional on my office computer. Today when i opened Add/Remove program from Control Panel i got following error msg.

Mshta.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

I want to know what is this mshta.exe error and why it appear to me? Anyone here knows how to fix mshta.exe error.

Hay Alan,

I don't know how to solve mshta.exe error but I think you try to Re-Install ya Update your windows.

You reply me here, if solve your problem after reinstall or update windows.

Hay Guyse,

I am using Windows XP SP2 With MS-Office 2003, Mecromedia Dreamweaver 2004 and more software installed. When I open Internet Explorer I got error massage mshta.exe is corrupted. Anybody knows what happend with me ?? Please Help!!!!

I am running Windows 2000 Professional. When I start the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel on a my computer.

The following error message may be displayed:

Mshta.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.

Can anyone help me how to fix this error ?

I�m relax because Mshta.exe is not virus and any spy ware, and I understand what is Mshta.exe? It�s part of Microsoft Windows Operating System.

I am also using Mcafee and i think that mcafee detecting all the script to change users. Simply ignore it. The following

"mshta.exe contains suspicious scripting activity"

will not cause any problem because Mcafee not recognize the action you try to execute allowable. So, just dont worry about it.

mshta.exe is associated with Microsoft Windows. mshta.exe is considered to be safe and not recommended to turn off this process. May be some spyware or maleware affect this system process but in most cases mshta.exe is not virus but is Microsoft system process that run on your computer.

If you get

Mshta.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

error msg then right

sfc/purgecache
sfc/scannow

in to Run dialog.

Hi,

If you got following error msg the

Mshta.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

If you get above error then type following command in RUN.

sfc /purgecache
sfc /scannow

lol
