I think you should take help of data recovery service provider http://www.diskemergency.com

Hi

You could try setting it to a master and unplug your burners and use that ide slot for h/d

If that fails you could try a PCI-Raid card to plug the harddrive into but they cost about �20 ish and it may not work

External HD failure

Dear all,

My external hard drive failed the other day due to a power failure (it will no longer power up when I press the "On" button).
I have now dismantled the external hard drive so as to be left with the hard drive itself.

I tried installing this as a slave drive however as soon as I add it to the end of one of the IDE cables BIOS will no longer detect the other drive that is connected to that cable.

Any ideas as to what I can try as all my data was stored on this external hard drive.
