Your suggestion not only rectified my start-up errors but by downloading adware I was able to get rid 168 add-ons.

"File purpose and description:
Mwsbar.dll is a program related to MyWebSearch and it is part of the software that includes programs such as cursor mania, smiley central, a website portal, etc. These can slow your computer down, even if they try to claim these are not adware or spyware related. If you downloaded and installed these things intentionally, you can leave them. If they arrived without your knowledge you can remove them as many of these come installed with other free software programs like greeting cards, cursor mania, etc., so you may not even realize they were installed on your computer! Mywebsearch, popular screensavers, free buddy icons, smiley central, cursor mania, etc. .... these all may install programs which are considered adware or spyware. (See the details below for the actual location of this file.)
Actual file or task name:
mwsbar.dll

File type:
This is a dll program and is called spyware or adware by many.

File or folder location:
Mywebsearch, popular screensavers, free buddy icons, smiley central, cursor mania, etc. .... these all may install programs which are considered adware or spyware. Mwsbar.dll will be found at c:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\1.bin\ "

You should click on Start Button, then go to "Run" then type in "msconfig" then press enter. Go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck any applications that you do not recongize. Also anything that is wierd looking or blank name. Then click on okay and restart your computer. This should stop calling files that may need the dll you listed above.

You should also go to download.com and download adware or spybot, then install it, update it, and scan your entire computer for spyware/adware.

Good luck!

Hi..I would appreciate if someone can help me get rid of the following start-up error.

c:\program1\mywebs~1\bar\1.bin\mwsbar.pll

Also upon start up, both the COMMON and SYSTEM windows pop up

Sadly I am technically challenged (a possible reason for my current predicament) so simplication is the key!

Thanks guys
