                                      I had the same problem (Extending partition). I used GPARTED live CD and had no issues.&lt;br /&gt;

It is an ISO image so you will have to burn the image to CD.&lt;br /&gt;

I think you are thinking diskpart (MS-DOS).&lt;br /&gt;
Click on Start&amp;gt;Run&amp;gt;Type in diskpart&lt;br /&gt;

Just be careful, this is not one of MS best programs. Gpart, Acronis etc are more user friendly.&lt;br /&gt;

I KNOW this is possible inside of Xp. I've found the path before, now I can't do it. I made my wife's C drive a wee bit too small (I was being stupid, it seems). I have Acronis Disk Director somewhere, but can't find the danged disc. Though it is still installed on my own machine. Any help would be appreciated, I need to extend the logical partition by about 20Gb or more.&lt;br /&gt;
