                                      Many DSL modems handed out nowdays have routing built in (at least Qwest does)&lt;br /&gt;

So as long as you can get DHCP working with your network card in Linux then it should work.&lt;br /&gt;

As for support? When there are enough Linux users to warrant it. In other word not ANY time soon.</description>

                                      Probably never.  The expectation is if you are computer savvy enough to use linux, you can figure it out for yourself.  All you have to do is make sure your computer can communicate with the modem, and that you know how to set up a PPPoE connection, either via the modems configuration if it has one, or through a dialer utility.</description>

                                      I would like the option of running a Linux desktop client as well. When will Verizon support : Suse, Redhat and Sun Java Desktop?</description>
